WRT my post before.
If you want everything-must-be-bleeding-edge, you can go install ArchLinux.
They released kernel26-2.6.29 few days ago and today released xorg-server 1.6.0 which included KMS for Intel video.

If you happen to use Arch

…and don’t mind experimenting, you can try kernel 2.6.29 right away by enabling Testing repository and do pacman -Syu. You’ll also get xorg-server 1.6.0 in the process. Too bad there’s no GNOME 2.26 yet.

Headache-free dual/triple/multiple-boot Windows/OpenSolaris/Linux/FreeBSD

…after being wtf-ed by trying to add GRUB entry to boot to ArchLinux’s ext4 partition.

Install Windows
Install OpenSolaris
Install Linux/FreeBSD, with GRUB on the Linux/FreeBSD partition then add entry on OpenSolaris’ GRUB to chainload to Linux/FreeBSD partition
???
